Aviation runs on hours and minutes, but logbooks and payroll want decimals — and duty limits are strict enough that off-by-15-minutes matters. TCalc treats every leg as a real duration, so summing a multi-leg day or checking remaining duty time is one expression.

Type times the way they appear on your OFP. Add legs, subtract turnarounds, and flip the total to decimal hours for the logbook with one tap.

Real Examples

13:05 - 08:47=4h 18m

Block time: on-block minus off-block, minute borrow handled correctly.

1h 20m + 45m + 2h 35m=4h 40m

Total flight time across three legs.

6h 45m=6.75h

Logbook entry in decimal — one tap on the output format.

23:15 + 3h=2:15 AM (next day)

Landing time for a late departure — date rollover handled.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I calculate block time?

Subtract the off-block time from the on-block time: 13:05 − 08:47 = 4h 18m. TCalc does true base-60 subtraction, so the minute borrow that trips up mental math is handled for you.

How do I convert flight time to decimal hours for my logbook?

Divide minutes by 60: 6h 45m is 6.75 hours. In TCalc, enter the duration and switch the output format to hours — every total displays as a decimal instantly.

Can I add up multiple legs in one go?

Yes — chain them in one expression: 1h 20m + 45m + 2h 35m = 4h 40m. You can subtract turnarounds or duty already used in the same line.
